Dr. Nima Ghorbani is a licensed psychologist in Washington, D.C., and California, with more than 25 years of experience in psychotherapy, psychological assessment, teaching, and clinical consultation. He has extensive clinical experience in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and in leading experiential training for both nonclinical populations and mental health professionals. He is a core faculty member in the ISTDP program at the New Washington School of Psychiatry and an IEDTA-Certified Teacher/Supervisor.
His clinical work focuses on helping adults understand and change persistent emotional and relational patterns, develop greater emotional freedom, and move toward healthier relationships and a more fulfilling life. His approach is culturally responsive and attentive to each person’s individual background and experience. He also provides clinical consultation and supervision to mental health professionals and is the author of books and scholarly articles on psychology and psychotherapy. He offers services in both English and Persian.
